Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) April 1, 2006 -- Canadian Fashion Designer Cheri Milaney, whose use of colour and cutting edge fabrics inspire women, has departed from market-driven corporate looks and shifted to a softer manner of design for women of all ages. This approach, which has become her signature trademark, inspires women to step outside the box revealing their inner confidence.
"Where is the real woman to shop? The same fashion trends year after year don't often serve the fashion-forward woman," says the buyer from the Cybil Scott Boutique in Kingston, Ontario. Cheri Milaney may allude to trends, but she never slavishly follows them. Her free flowing clothing designs with fabrics from around the world create pieces that transcend daytime to evening.
She makes a point of designing clothing that fits and flatters a variety of body types and is not afraid of colour. Cheri believes there are four personality types to help women enhance their style based on lifestyle, careers and individual tastes: Carefree, Romantic, Creative, and Sophisticated.
"For our clients, Cheri Milaney fashions fulfill their flair for style and appreciation for true artistry in design and fabric," says Joan Brachman of L'Engage de la Mode in Etobicoke. Some of the celebrities Cheri Milaney has designed for include Toronto’s Kimberley Seldon, Monita Rajpal, previously with City TV (now with CNN), Emmanuelle Vaugier, who appeared in “Smallville” and "Saw II". She was recently labeled one of Canada’s most promising designers by the Canadian entertainment news program Inside Entertainment. She has also been featured in Toronto Life Fashion, Where, Style Magazine, Easy Living, The Province, and The Vancouver Sun and on television Urban Rush, and Global TV.
Cheri Milaney's pieces ($150-$500) are more modern classics and not only her own wardrobe, but her home too is living proof. “I put myself in the buyer’s shoes,” she says. “I try on everything and use it in my own home. If I’m not comfortable, my customer won’t be.”
Jill Mason, owner of The Dressing Room in Stratford adds, "When we fill our front windows with Cheri Milaney fashions, the customers flock in."
